You may find it interesting to note that most professional editors/publishers prefer the use of “said” in many instances. That humble little word gets out of the way, while “orated,” “reciprocated,” and “beseeched” do not and tend to make manuscripts look sloppy/far too puffed up to take seriously. That’s not to say that “giggled,” “muttered,” and “began” don’t have their places. It’s all a matter of balance. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ BEST Just saying, but you don’t need to fucking use said or a synonym most of the time.
